Hi All,
Hope all's well at your end.
I have a quick query. Firefox allows a user to enter a password in the password field. This is masked, however, anyone can copy this by Right Clicking on the Password field (which is displaying the masked characters) and also lets you copy it. This can be used when I know the username and is a threat especially on a shared computer.
I am using C# code to develop an application and face this problem when I use Firefox. Any suggestions on how to disable this option or stop this activity.

Thanks fellas, H4ppy N3w Y342

afaik, the text that is copied isn't the password but a string of the password characters of the same length.

there are four ways to fix this problem.

[ol]
[li]stop your users saving their passwords on shared computers.[/li]
[li]get in touch with the active firefox developers via the fora and ask them nicely to change the way that password fields work.[/li]
[li]join the mozilla project and change it yourself.[/li]
[li]get used to the fact that you can't control every (any?) aspect of users' behaviour.[/li]
[/ol]

since the last one requires the least effort i suggest you try that.

hth,

mr s. <;)
