firefox 3.03 not opening links 1

howdy all,
I have firefox 3.03 on my laptop and lately whenever i click on a link that requires a new window to open up nothing happens. Clicking on links on site that take me to a new page work ok. But when i click on a link that opens a new window eg when i'm reading web mail and i click on a link within the email nothing happens, if i open that same page in ie it works fine. This only happens on my laptop not on the desktop which has the same addon's
Any ideas?

Have you got JavaScript disabled, or a popup blocker enabled? Check through the add-ones and settings to make sure these are not the case.

Thanks for replying
I have both Java and Javascript enabled, i have popup blocker enabled but even when that is disabled same thing happens.
also made sure i don't have the noscript add on.
any other [places i could look?

Perhaps you have another add-on which is blocking popups... or perhaps some sort of internet security suite?

Success i have or had AVG safe search installed in the add-ons once i disabled that it all worked. and just to check it i enabled it and it stopped again. So have disabled it for now and all is well. Thanks again for your time got me looking in the right places.
