Hello All,
We have been using the magical authentication with the FireBox but unfortunatly have had some problems and were hoping someone could shed some light on the problem. When a user logs onto the machine and opens IE, the window opens up and displays the text "Loading authentication applet" (I think thats what it says). Then the little applet pops up and the user authenticates and goes on thier mnerry way. If the user then closes ALL IE windows, and tries to open IE again, the page opens up and says "Loading authentication applet". BUT, the applet never pops up. So, i was hoping someone could help me out. Maybe its not the FireBox, but if anyone has had this problem or have heard about it, some help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Axom

Thanks for replying NTrOP. I tried your solution and it works. The only fault is that since this is being used in a school district, the kids have a hard time not typing thier username and password every time they see it. I had one child who just kept typing it in and reopening IE and typing it in. But oh well, I will keep looking. Thanks for the heads up.

If you are looking for alternative methods of authentication, you might look at RADIUS. W2K will do this nicely for you.
