I had two different macs (OS X each) simultaneously connected via fire wire to a hard drive. I used this temporary arrangement to move files from one to the other because I couldn't figure out how to get my makes to network via ether net in OS X. Anyway, during the course of manipulating the same file from the different keyboards, I lost contact with the drive, which upon startup from either mac, now I get a message that the HD is unreadable and needs to be initialized. The mac OS disk repair utility reports an "invalid sibling link," and claims to repair it, but does not. Norton Utility (for OS 9) cannot even see the HD to repair it.
