Ok guys... I know hte topic has probably been covered a hundred times but here is the scenario.

Using a plugin for photoshop called Fire3 I am able to create different animated gifs of thengs bursting into fire etc. This is not big deal except the end result is a huge file as it is all bmp based images.

I figured using flash I could create the same type of image in a vector based format and it in turn would be smaller. So I searched multiple times and found different tutorials and can get nothing to work. I am using Flash 8 and from what I read there is a function called fire effect. Using tutorials I cannot get this to work either. Another thing I noticed in the examples they provided is as soon as you view their flash image my processor works in overdrive.

Does anyone have a way to create and animate realistic looking flames/fire burning whatever you want to call it that is a decent size and is decently efficient to the CPU.

Any help greatly appreciated, been looking for a week now and have not come up with any real viable solution.
