Hi all,

Is there a way we can display a Task level column in 'Resource Usage view' with following formula:

Finish Variance = [ Baseline Finish Date (Task) - Finish Date (Task) ]

Custom field could be an option, but did not give the correct results. I would prefer to use non-custom (stock) field, if possible.

Pls advise,

Best Regards.

In Duration1 try:

Code:
([Baseline Finish]-[Finish])*[Minutes Per Day]

Sorry, but you cannot write "Task" level formulas in the Resource Usage view. The resource usage view shows resources and assignments -- not tasks. The formula above will create an error on the resource line (resources do not have a baseline finish value) and will not show any calculation on the assignment line.

You can add Baseline Finish to the Resource Usage view and manually inspect the difference between Finish and Baseline finish on the assignment line -- but sorry, no formulas. You use a macro to copy data from a custom task field to the task assignment and resource assignment fields. For some guidance see FAQ 51 at

Nice catch, Julie (not able to write formulas for Tasks in the Resource Usage view).

However, as I pointed out in my other reply to stct, you can create a formula in the Resource Usage view (which is based on Assignments) and if only one resource is *always* assigned to a Task then you will effectively accomplish the same thing.
