I am looking at getting a domestic Devolo dLAN Highspeed 85Mbps Ethernet kit -
I need to hook up the Sony Bravia to my home network via a cable. There is already a wireless access point and a repeater but this isn't an option for the telly. CAT5 cabling is not really an option either as installation would be a nightmare.
There are several ring mains - ground floor (where the TV is located), 1st floor (where the router is located, next to the incoming ADSL line), 2nd floor, kitchen/utility room, freezers & C/H, and garage.
Here's the question:
Do all the Devolo devices have to be on the same ring main to work, or in other words, does the signal carry across the consumer unit to other ring mains without any problem? If the signal does carry from circuit to circuit, are there any losses?
