Thanks for these replies. I am proficient in Excel VBA, but never worked with Word VBA. Until the other day, I never heard of Word bookmarks :( In fact, I have always disliked using Word, as most of the time I get bogged down in formatting.

I am trying to transfer a data array from Excel in to a Word table. The Word document has may tables, and I want to mark the starting point of the data with a bookmark.

Can anyone please advise if it is possible to find the table number, column number and cell number of the Table cell where the bookmark is located?

Can anyone also advise good reading for Word VBA automation etc, so I can learn about this work I am trying to do?

Hi Peter,

See my reply in your other thread.

And I will reiterate the point:

"Can anyone please advise if it is possible to find the table number, column number and cell number of the Table cell where the bookmark is located?"

If you have the bookmark name, then the table number, or even the column and cell number, are completely irrelevant.

Use the bookmark. That is what they are for.
