Finding total value

I am a newcomer to Filemaker and would like to ask a question regarding how to find the total value of a number of fields.
The file concerned has 10 Amount fields and I want to find the total value of them all.
Am I right in thinking that the Sum function will do this?
If so I would like to know how to use it.

Jack,

If you're trying to sum up some values all within the same record you will probably jusy want to create a new field (calculation type) and make the calculation something like:

Field1 + Field2 + Field3
