i could not find on datasheets of 3com switches (8800, S7900E, & 7750 family) information about:

1. whether it is equipped with redundant processor (Control Card) modules
2. whether it have any indicator light(s) for each port
3. whether it have a modular OS
4. whether the modules are hot-swappable

or is there any words used instead of above? I'm not very proficient with English, so please bear with me.

thanks in advance

example for the 8800 series:

1. A redundant switch fabric (720 Gbps performance or 360 Gbps) is an option available for the Switch 8800 for added performance and resiliency. With dual switch fabrics installed, both operate in an active, load-sharing fashion, doubling aggregate system performance while also ensuring the highest level of resiliency.
2. Unable to find information about indicator lights but would be suprised if they didnt have any.
3. What do you mean by modular O/S, do you mean like cisco where they have a few different versions for each switch?
4. All critical system components
including power supplies, cooling fans and switch fabrics are
redundant and hot-swappable, minimizing any impact to the
enterprise in the event a single component should fail.

reply for point number 3:
yes

another question, if it is not stated that there is no redundant processor, so there isn't any?

Usaully with 3com switches there is only 1 software version which has all features but i have noticed on some of the bigger units on the datasheets that some features require extra licences:

Extensive L2/3/4 switching and routing capability, including advanced
features* like IS-IS, BGP-4, MBGP, MPLS, and VPLS, applicable in very
large enterprises.

Extensive IPv6 feature suite? with support for full IPv6 addressing and
routing, and transition mechanisms such as dual stack and tunneling.
IPv6 can be supported on all existing I/O modules using “Centralized
Mode”, preserving previous investment in those modules.

* Available in the 3Com Advanced Feature Software v3, at additional cost
? Available in the 3Com Advanced Feature Software v5 IPv6, at additional cost
