Hello, Everyone.

I am stepping in to support a set of reports from a previous employee. There is a multitude of reports, but only a couple that I can't figure out which rdl file goes with the deployed report.

I have two reports on the deployed report webpage called:
'Active Consecutive Episodes 1' and
'Active Consecutive Episodes 2'

In BIDS, I have two files called:
'act_consec_episodes_d.rdl' and
'act_consec_episodes_s.rdl'.

Looks like the report names were changed in the report manager, and the content is practically identical (I am yet to locate the differeces).

Is there a way I can figure out the source rdl file for a deployed report?

Using SQL Server and BIDS 2008.

Thanks

In the report manager, hover over the name, and highlight the menu to the right. Choose Download... from the menu. That will give you the .RDL source.

I also have the same issue, and i do not know if Flapeyre's solution worked for you Pdbowling, because it does not work for me, if it did, can you please explain for me in detail

Thanks

I'm not at work now, but you may have a different version of SSRS than I do.

You might not have the authority to view the source. A report definition file is basically an xml file.

If you have a DBA, ask them.

As far as I know, there's no way to retrieve the original .rdl file name once you've renamed it in Report Manager. In the future one option may be to create a custom property for each report that contains the original name.
