Hi there,
I used to connect to internet at the office through proxy server which i found the name of the proxy server from my network neighberhood, about two weeks a go I lost the my connection to the internet,& I checked my network neghberhood & i couldn't see my proxy server any more, so I changed my internet connection setting to automaticly find the setting, from use the proxy; but no success, I unchecked all the boxes in lan setting, but still i can't connect. but if i use another machine at the office & login to that machine I don't have a problem connecting to internet!!! I checked the setting on the other machines they all have nothing checked on their setting for IE( lan setting).
Does any one knows how can I find the name of the proxy server, without asking the network administrator?

Thanks,
Raymond

Hi Raymond

Don't want you getting in trouble so give this a go.

in DOS do a

"Ipconfig /all" (for win2000) that will show you your gateway ip, try that address on port 80, may work, may not
