hi

i have a set of impromptu reports in one folder and couple of catalogs in some other folders (designed by some one my ancesters). all catalogs looks similar. Now i am confused which report is using which catalog from which folder. The catalog description on status bar shows same for all catalogs.
is there a way to find out the source of the catalog by looking in the report?
thanks,
sudhi

You can find this by going to Report Menu -> General, the catalog is shown on the general tab.

There are two ways I know of to accomplish this.
1. In Windows Explorer, do a search for the name of a catalog in the Containing Text field.

2. Open each of the IMR files in a text editor and do a search for .cat.

Both of these ways will show you which catalog each report is pointing to.

sudhi,

The best way to avoid this is to put the file name (as a dynamically sized frame) into the report page footer as a reference, where it will show both the name and path. Do this with the Insert | Objects menu option. That way you always know the exact report linked to each report.
