I am looking for a list of all the manufacturers of Wireless Access points, (or at least a good portion of all of them), so I can build a reference base of MAC addresses that are OR could be an access point. I plan to do a query of MAC addresses on my network to find rogue access points.
I can do a scaled down WarDrive exercise but I am looking for a less "mobile" and more proactive approach to looking for Access Points.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

IEEE handles all MAC assignments. They offer a lookup feature by MAC.

The remainder of your question is best explored in a site like the NetStumbler Forum. Without offense, not here.

NetStumbler works great if I want to WarDrive looking for Access points via the wireless side. My goal is to be able to find those access points by sourcing the ARP tables on my routers and switches. This way I can run a script against those tables on a regular basis. Saving me from having to WarDrive as often. This process is not without it's flaws but it may be workable. But, I need a reasonably dependable list of the manufacturers of Access Points.
I am aware of the IEEE handling of MACs. I was hoping someone in this forum might have an hint on where I could find this manufacturers list.
