Finding record in linked table

Since .Index and .Seeks doesn't work on linked tables, what's a good way to finding whether a record exists in a linked table?

Thanks Al. I tried FindFirst, but that only works on dynasets and snapshots. I've been using DLookup, but was looking for something a bit faster and more elegant. Perhaps this is the best I can do.
