I have a POTS line that is supposed to ring on a telephone set. Doesn't that have to be programmed as a PVR/PVN key? when i call the POTS line it rings to one of my atty's rollover DN (I called it three times and all three times it went there). this is for a remote site. how do i track down what DN this POTS line is on without actually being there? PS: this website is the greatest thing to happen to my career since the invention of the no-desi-required M3900 sets!

This is another option. Not sure what you need the line for. I believe the phone company can direct that pots line number to a number that is in your dialing plan. So if 555-5555 is a number in the switch and you have ext. 5555 in the switch and the new pots line is 444-4444 the phone company can point this number to 555-5555 and it will ring on ext. 5555.

Nevermind was thinking of something else. Look in features and services guide book 3 of 3.

POT's can effect your Vmail. Build a trunk in the PBX and auto terminate it to the DN you want it to go to.hope that helps

I am trying to determine on which phone/DN a particular seven-digit number terminates on. I want to then move that DN/PVR (whatever it is) to another phone so someone else can answer that call. how do i do that? i am at a remote location.

stat the trunk card or cards when you call in LD 32 then go to LD 80 and TRAK C=card U=unit

ld 81
lst
enter pvr at the feat prompt
this will tell you what phones have a pvr key

The pots line will terminate on a route. in the RDB (ld 16) look for AUTO = yes, then do a tnb on the trunk members and see if there is ATDN = xxxx

might help...

Happiness is.....

Okay one more time. You say you call the number and it rings on someones rollover dn. I would say this is the dn that the pots line is pointing to. print this persons tn that the line rings on. They should have a pvr key. all you should have to do is put this same key onto whatever phone you want to. Peace.

Dear Nortellian, that's the problem. The rollover is NOT a PVR/PVN key. Not at all! it is a system number. So how in the world is my 800 ringing to this system #? unless it's hitting something else in my PBX and then that is somehow getting to the rollover. I don't know at all. Very confusing. I have an 800 # that routs to a POTS line (confirmed with AT&T), yet that POTS line is somehow pointing to that rollover DN, not its own PVR (or whatever). If i could somehow figure out how to look up the POTS line in the PBX, then maybe I could figure out how it's getting to the rollover.

I'd guess your LEC has the POTS forwarded to the DID. Call them and ask about the config and special features of the POTS.
Do you own the POTS?
Does it terminate in your building?

Where is that DejaVu coming from?

Call the 800# then when it is answered do a thace on the phone that the call is terminating on. that will tell you the TN of the trunk. Print the TNB of the trunk and you will see where the call is being ATDN. an 800# coming in on a POTS does not have to go to a PVR, it can be sent to a regular DN.

Call the 800# then when it is answered do a trace on the phone that the call is terminating on. that will tell you the TN of the trunk. Print the TNB of the trunk and you will see where the call is being ATDN. an 800# coming in on a POTS does not have to go to a PVR, it can be sent to a regular DN.

Yep, check with you carrier to see if they are pointing it to a dn in your switch.

tcomanalyst
can you login to that switch remotly? go to LD 80 and call the 800# and do a trace on the TN it rings on, this will you the TN of the trunk.
