Hi all,

When we set up a digital phone - the extension becomes part of the phone number (ie extension of 3456 makes the phone number 020 7345 3456).

When we set up analog lines, the extensions do not become part of the phone number. When we dial out the number is witheld so we cant find out the number that way.

My question is: Is there a way to find out what the complete phone number is using the system or any other methods??

If you don't create the extension of an analog line inside your DID range, the number will indeed not show up on a display when you call out (you will propabely see the general number).

This means also that the analog line is using an internal number only know by the PBX, so the number can't be reached from the outside.

The only way to solve this is to create an analog line in your DID range.

Hope this helps.
Erik.

I have found the sme thing as Erik. When calling from an extension the system displays on caller IDs the Main Billing Number for that T1/E1. You can ask your telco provider to change that number to something more useful (like your main phone number). Wisdom is Knowledge

Depending on your dialtone provider, you could find the analog number by dialing a telephone number or code. I am in North Carolina and both BellSouth and Sprint have codes that you can dial that will tell you the number. I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I hope it helps.

Those are called ANAC numbers, and I'm sure a search on the
Internet for "ANAC" will return some working ones.
