I changed networks and logins but have the same machine - how do I find my old emails from my new login?

You didn't say what software or operating system you are using, or email type, but if you are on Windows, using Outlook, try File > Open > Other users folder. But if the folders for your other user name wasn't set to share, you may have a different problem.

windows, exchange server.... I am looking for the messages that were already in my inbox (I guess - already downloaded off the server down to the machine - shouldn't they be there somewhere?

[conehead]

How did you download them? as individual messages or in a .pst file? If they are individual messages, you can just find them and open them (double click), but if they are in a .pst file, you will need to use the File > Open > Personal folders option in Outlook.

What am I searching for? "old messages" ?

Sorry to be so helpless....

I did a search for "outlook" and found .pf file, .mof file - either of those sound right?

[conehead]

No, if you saved it as a personal folder, search for "*.pst". If you saved as email messages, you will need to search for "*.msg" (eliminate the quotes in both).

here might be my issue - I did not "save" them as anything - I just received them - now I have a different login on a different network - but shouldn't they be on the machine somewhere or am I totally screwed?

[conehead]

I found a .pst file and all is well - thanks for your patience....

Do you have a network administrator? What do you mean by "different network"? Are you speaking of an Exchange server or ISP?
