Finding Merlin Mail version

I have an external Merlin Mail for my Legend system. How can I find out the exact hw and sw rev?

If you have WinSPM you can use Quick Access>System inventory. Then select each card in each slot, the revisions will be displayed at the bottom.

Try this it may work
Log in to the administrator MB 9997 then instead of hitting the hidden prompt 9 for admin hit 7 and it should tell you the version (i think)

My mail is external, so Win SPM wont show the mail system

I tried MB 9997 and "7", it says "entry not understood"

Connect via hyperterminal and a null modem cable to the serial port on the side of the unit. 1200-N-8-1, no flow control. Hit return. The password is the serial number of the unit. The menu display will give you the release. You can also pull a configuration report which will tell you at a glance how the auto attendant/submenu/announcements/mailboxes are set-up
