How do I identify the citrix support pack that has been installed. this is Metaframe XP running on W2K sp4.

I have a Java Virtual Machine error when trying to go into the management console. I have read technotes that suggest there is a file that can fix it in SP1, but the only spacks I can find are 3 and 4.

Thanks.

marvhuffaker,
I've received some errors like that in the past when I was trying to open the CMC.
Just update the JRE to the latest version and it should help out.

Once you've done that try to open the CMC and see what happens.

Hope that helps.

Thanks but I tried that already and didn't have much luck. Some of the postings I saw suggested that the reinstall of java may or may not fix it, but if not to use this other file -- can't remember the name - but it's included in the support pack. So back to my original question. How can I find out what I have? Thanks.

marvhuffaker,
Ahhhh....ok.

How bout just going into the Add/Remove programs?
It should tell you that Citrix Metaframe for Windows XP sp2 or 3 or 4 is installed.
Also look for any other sp's that might have been installed after Citrix Metaframe was installed (example: Metaframe XP Service Pack 4 should have a individual entry in the add/remove applet).

Hope that helps.

Try looking in the Citrix Management Console. Highlight the licenses folder and look on the summary tab.

oisnds - brings me back to my original post - can't get into that.

enigma99 - so nothing shows up in add/remove except for 'Citrix Metaframe XP 1.0'. So I am assuming as of now that the server has never been patched.

Is that a fair enough guess?

That would be correct.
No SP's applied so it looks like you'll have to download all the SP's so you can install them.

Just download the F3/SP3 and install only the SP option. Then go download the SP4 install and apply all the latest critical updates.
That will catch you with all Citrix patches.

FYI...you have to have SP3 installed before you install SP4.

Hope that helps.

Guess I need to pay attention. Anyway if you look in the install directory for Citrix on the server (Program Files\Citrix) there is a documentation folder that should have a readme file for each SP or FR pack installed. There are probably other places to look, I just found this quickly.
