Here’s a curly one.

“They have decided” that we all should have browser access to an archival service on CD-ROM. It is well laid-out & written in straight & simple HTML.

The only hitch is that the drive letter changes often.

At the moment I’m using a .js file with a variable that I change when the drive moves.

Is there a way of locating the CD-ROM & accessing contents with the minimum of hard coding?

i don't think js can access any of your drives, period. this is a big security no-no that js doesn't allow.

perhaps MS "JScript" can do it using an ActiveX control? =========================================================
