I'm looking for the PCB or a full hard drive of a seagate with the following specifications:
Model: ST3500830A
Firmware: 3.AAC
P/N: 9bj036-500

Anyone have any suggestions or tips?

Thanks in Advance.

The best tip in the used-PC-parts-department is always eBay , make sure the part in question is the same model at least, same firmware better, close serial number best. The one listed above comes with a USB case, but shop the used hard drive listings at your native eBay or the used hard drive bin at your local mom-and-pop electronics shop, if you're fortunate to have one in your area.

There's also some good tips and a forum to match sellers with buyers at

Thanks for the response Tony. You mentioned that the drive model ST3500830A comes with a USB case. Is there a model # for the same exact hard drive (e.g., same part number, physical characteristics etc) without a USB case?

Thanks.

utoyo,

That was just the result of a quick eBay search. Google "buy ST3500830A" and see what you get, here's 's search results:

Of course you'd want the same interface (SATA vs. PATA) and some of the sellers might be willing to share serial numbers with you. Please note only the one from Unity Electronics has the exact same model number, but I would give them a call and ask if they can give you the firmware rev.
