Hi All,

Iam using CR ver 8.

I am trying to find a database field which is being used in the report at some point and is not displayed in the report.
How can I find where that field is being used. I tried to look in every formula's and format section's. But I still can't figure it out. In Database field explore that field is check in green( which tells, the field is being using).

Any idea's are gratly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sweetie

One place that is easily overlooked is the sort records area. You also should check for field formatting and the formula areas within running totals. You can also export to report definition, which might indicate where the field is used.

LB's suggesions make good sense.

Another means is to remove the table (or the field if you're using a View or SP) from the report temporarily which has that table, the report will then prompt at every instance where a field is used that isn't in the report.

Try to base all reports on Views, then this sort of discovery is simple (and so is maintenance).
