Hi,

On AIX 4.3 or 5.2,what would be a way to establish the current ent interface setting?

If it's a GIGA adapter - it could be running on 10/100/1000 BT.
If it's a 100BT adapter - it could be running on 10/100 BT.

Is there any way to know the current exact speed ( I know it depends on the switch as well).

lsdev -Cc adapter
find your adapter name
lsattr -El ent2
(or whatever your adapter is)

Thank, but in most cases it does not show the CURRENT speed:

lsattr -El ent0
busio 0x1000100 Bus I/O address False
busintr 6 Bus interrupt level False
intr_priority 3 Interrupt priority False
tx_que_size 64 TRANSMIT queue size True
rx_que_size 32 RECEIVE queue size True
full_duplex no Full duplex True
use_alt_addr no Enable ALTERNATE ETHERNET address True
alt_addr 0x000000000000 ALTERNATE ETHERNET address True

hi,

try entstat -d ent?

?=0,1,2 etc.. network card

check for media speed running and media speed selected
running is what its running at , depending on what the card is connected to i.e. switch , hub etc..
selected is what speed you have selected the card to run at
( lsattr command).
