We have an optional text field that I would like to use to find Orders. I can add the the optinal field using the Set Criteria window but no results are returned. I went as far as copying and pasting the exact contents of the optional field from a specific record and still no matches.

So how exactly does one find an Order by all or part of an optional field?

In the OE Finder screen click on Settings, Columns an add the Optional Field. Next click on Key and select the first (primary) key, then select your Optional Field in the Find By list and enter the Filter.
The trick is you must select the primary key otherwise the Optional Fields do not show up.

I didn't know that about selecting the primary key. Cool.

Neither did I until I posted that, I was thinking "this should be simple" and then it did not work, so I tried the primary key and presto.
