In a report I need to display the oldest and newest dates. In other words, my table contains 45 records with dates between 9/1/03 and 10/15/03 and I need the report to display 9/1/03 and 10/15/03 and the oldest and newest dates.

I've searched everywhere but I can't find the right expression.

Thanks

Thanks for replying.

I tried that and it won't work. It returns a date, but not the oldest and newest. For instance, "Min" returns 10/01/03.

Thanks

then you are either not describing hte problem correctly (or completely) or there is a problem with the data.

If I had more info, I could write the query for you, but you don't give enough detail for me to do that.

I have a table that contains a date field along with quite a few other fields. My report produces calculations on all the other fields. At the bottom of the report I need to have a sentence that reads as follows:

"This report was produced on (current date) based on (total number of records) records between (oldest date) and (newest date)."

The current date (using =Date()) and total of all records (using =Count)is working fine, but I can't get the oldest and newest date functions to work.

If you need more information please let me know.

Thanks.

Check the Data Type of the date field in question, it should be Date/Time. From the way you're describing it, it's being evaluated as a text field....

Hoc nomen meum verum non est.

CosmoKramer, you were right, the data type was set to text. I switched it and now it works great. Thanks!
