I need to select 'old' customers, people who have not spent with us recently to do a mail-out. We have the usual invoice file with date, amount, cust-ref fields etc.
How can I find customers to be sure that there is no invoice for them with a more recent date?

Create a calculated field with this formula, substituting your own table and field names:

SMax(Invoices.Date)

and on the Define Summary tab, set the option to "All records in Invoices".

Put the calc field on a form with main table Customers; it will display the latest invoice date. Then go into Find mode and enter a condition in the calculated field.

To find customers who haven't ordered since a specific date (1st Jan 2003 say), the condition is:

<01/01/03

To find in relation to today's date, say in the last year:

<@Today()-365

Then hit Enter to run the find.
