We have a MAS 2.0, MSS system with 32 ports and 900+ mailboxes. We would like to deploy the Find-Me feature within each mailbox. Is there a matrix that will show the amount of find-me mailboxes that are allowed in a system at one time? We think if we were to deploy the feature to all users, that action would bottleneck the server. Is that the cause?

The bottleneck in the server would most likely come from a lack of ports. Your system was most likely sized based on traffic patterns of inbound calls for leaving and checking voicemail messages. If you now start to require an outbound trunk for every inbound trunk, those stats will be skewed. Although voicemail should drop both trunks if the find me call is answered, both will be up for a period of time. As far as a matrix, you would need to come up with what percentage of calls to voicemail would utilize find me, and for what length of time the calls would be up. I don't think there is any standard matrix that can answer that.

Thanks for the answer. We will look at our inbound trunk ports to see if they can handle the traffic.

Bear in mind that if the user answers the call the port on the MM will drop off. Also if the user doesn't answer the call it is just like someone leaving a VM. Also you may not want to let them just use the find me feature with out the caller asking for it. If every caller was sent to find me you caould also have a trunking problem going out of the PBX.

Just my thoughts on it.

Thanks! we are in the process of looking at a traffic study to verify of port capacity. Thanks for your assistance.
