Hello:

I have a user who has a form and he wants to be able to search is databse by last name. Let's say he wants to find mmsenda. What he wants is, when he types in mmsenda, the record will come up and not changing the value of this field.

Any ideas?

G'day,

Try creating a query with all the fields you want including the name field, in the name field criteria write something like: [Enter search name]. Add a command button to a form and make it run the query.
