find field from record corresponding to a max field?

In a group of records, I need not only the latest update datetime in the footer but also the latest user that updated. I've got a maximum(update_datetime) field, but how do I find the update user that shares the record with that field?

The simplest solution is to sort the detail records in ascending order by update datetime. If you can do that, you can just copy the detail fields into the group footer, and the results will be correct. If you can't, you can collect the info in a variable to accomplish this.
