FIND feature not working in Adobe Reader 8

Im trying to use the FIND feature in Adobe reader 8 and after it searches it says not matches found when I am looking at the word I was searing for in the document. I checked the security setting and there is no security on the document.

Is it just one document? It's possible that the words in the doc are in image format rather than text format. Image format in not searchable.

Using OSX 10.3.9 & 10.4.11 on a G4, G5 & Intel Macbook

It happens on several documents, I am thinking the documents were scanned.

Yep! that would do it - unsearchable.
