Avaya CM 6.3.
I want to find the CDOM/ system platform IP of a CM, but cat /etc/hosts does not show the cdom IP. Could anybody suggest any alternate method?

There's a backend network avprivate with 172.20.10.x IPs.

You should be able to ssh admin@cdom.vsp to get in, and then ifconfig to find what it's corp IP is. you can ssh dom0.vsp as well.

No it does not work

ssh admin@cdom.vsp
ssh: cdom.vsp: Name or service not known

hmm. all my system platform CMs had that populated automagically.

login to dom0 and cat /etc/hosts should show it again the hostname cdom.vsp

Are you sure your CM is on System Platform? Is it at all possible it's not and on VMWare? Like it's a CM you're not usually managing and aren't privy to it's deployment information?

If I 'cat /opt/vsp/ovf-env.txt' in CM, that ovf-env.txt file contains all sorts of System Platform provisioning information like the CDOM and dom0 IPs in all sorts of places. But if your CM doesn't even have dom0.vsp and cdom.vsp in the hosts file, I'm thinking either something's wrong with it's System Platform deployment or it's in VMWare.
