Hello all - am trying to find and replace 2012 with 2013 in 374 formulas in one spreadsheet. The formulas are linked to other spreadsheets. I highlight all the cells but when I hit replace all, Excel brings up the file open box. What can I do?

hi,

TILT!

You changed at least one of the links to a NON-EXISTENT reference.

I get what you are saying - once the change from 2012 to 2013 is made, I have to also replace CY12 with CY13 within same formulas. Is this what is doing it?

MAYBE, and I say MAYBE with this caution...

Maybe you just want to change 12 to 13. That's assuming that the only 12s that you have specifically refer to the year, as 2012 or CY12, and you don't have any other stray 12s in your links.

I was this close to building a shrine dedicated to your genius - Unfortunately it did the same thing.
SIGH!

I assume that all the links are fairly similar.

Could you COPY n PASTE 3 or 4 of them here, as a sample?

Found it - it was the extension (xls vs. xlsx). Thank you for your guidance!
