Hi,

I use FP2000. I have a web template of 628 pages. On 588 of those pages, there is a misspelled 2-word phrase.

Is there a way to find and replace throughout the entire web WITHOUT having to click "Replace All" 588 times after I've found the misspelled phrase???

I mean, can't the "replace all" in a web work truly as "replace all" without my 588 seperate clicks??

Yes indeed, that choice is available. And when I click to start the process, it finds all 588 instances where the phrase needs to be replaced.

BUT THEN -- Instead of being able to click "Replace" or "Replace All" and have FP do that on all the web pages -- it simply does the replacement on the first page. Then it asks me to click "OK" whether to save and close the corrected page. When I click that "OK," it takes me to the next page in the list. Then I have to repeat the two clicks again.

So that means, to find and replace the misspelled phrase on 588 pages, I will have to one-by-one click my mouse twice = 1,176 mouse clicks.

So why in the world doesn't FP make an easier way to do this??

I may be wrong, but I THINK replacing 588 instances within a single page, at least in MS Word, could be done with a single click. But I guess the "find and replace" within an MS FrontPage web site won't do it with a single click?

I know on FP XP when I enter the Find & replace fields - I can choose All Pages & then hit Replace All. This will do it. FP 2000 might not do this. I think I remember that was one of the complaints that I had with FP 2000

That doesn't surprise me, I mean that fpxp or fp2003 probably changed this.

Grrr. Guess I'll have to start saving my dimes and upgrade. Sure a nuisance to find/replace with 2 clicks on each page.

Do you know of any find/replace utility software that works on fp2000 files? I've searched and found a couple through Google. But when I try them, they SAY they're finding/replacing. yet when I open the pages and do the find/replace search again from within fp2000, it shows the replacements weren't made.

Anyway, thanks for your quick response and your help!
