find and replace suggestions 1

Does anyone know of a free utility that will find and replace blocks of text and also gives you the option to save the "find and replace" in order to perform it again on other text files. My goal is to insert code into an htm file that was created by converting a Word doc into a web page. I need the creator of the document to do this himself and it needs to be automated. The same code is going to go into the same place on everyone of the documents he creates.

Needs to be:
1. Free
2. Ability to Save the job

Can a batch file be created that will do this?

Hate to say MS Frontpage. If you have XP or Office it should be installed, therefor free. It will find and replace across all pages in a directory.

Dont use MS frontpage. Use Dreamweaver 2004 or MX. It has a great replace text feature.

Why not just write a word macro or a VBA routine that does the convert then the find and replace?

Why not use Textpad? It has a history that shows you the last n search-and-replaces that you did, and can be used over multiple files.

Thank you. I certainly appreciate all of the suggestions I have been provided. Because of the nature of my project, I think that the best solution for me is to use ChrisHirst's suggestion to write a VBA macro.

This is the first time that I attempted to write one, so I am quite clueless. I do have some experience with VBA though.

Any good resources that you can point me too? My search on google has turned up a lot of specific examples, but not much for general tutorials. Any suggestions?
