Do you know how to re-create the balance sheet and income statment in Crystal Reports for Peachtree?

The balance sheet needs to have the Assets on the Left side of the page and the Liabilities/Owner's Equity on the Right Side of the page. Gridlines also need to appear.

I can't find where Peachtree gives us the Balance of the account at the beginning of the period so it makes it difficult (if not impossible) for me to create the report in Crystal.

Crystal is a great tool, but it is horrible at financial statements. You would be much better served using FRx, F9 or some tool specifically designed to create financial statements.

If you are determined to use cyrstal for this purpose, you willneed to have multiple, unlinked subreports with shared variables in order to get your subtotals for current assets, current liabs, etc.

Thank you for confirming what I thought would be the case.

And, in order to ready the Peachtree files you will need to buy their developer kit. It gives you a special ODBC driver that allows you to get into the Peachtree tables. It is not expensive. Howard Hammerman,

Howard,

Do you have any information on this? I have run into, and walked away from, several Crystal reports for Peachtree because the .ddfs do not expose all the tables and fields.

Is this still the case with the ODBC driver or not? Software Sales, Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

Hi Don,

Once you buy their kit, you have a new driver that you use to create a new DSN. You can then see all the tables, etc. Howard Hammerman,
