Financial cosequences of ERP implementation

Well, its gonna cost a lot of money.
Seriously though, what other financial repercussions are there?
I was peripherally involved in a poorly managed conversion back in 1999 where they went live without adequate testing, and could not even invoice the customers. Without invoices, most people will not pay, so that would qualify as a financial consequence.
