Hi,

I am a user of MS Project 2010. My company has the server installed (so we have the PWA and Project Pro). We would like to report on Financial Actuals per project by month - however the ACWP field in MS Project is non-time phased.

We are trying to find a solution around this... so far the best we have come up with is to create a custom field for each month and enter the financial actuals in this field. Then add this to the OLAP cube and create reports using this. I realize there is a limit of 99 custom fields per OLAP cube, but I don't think this would become an issue. However, this seems like a very inefficient way to do this.

My question: Has anyone successfully stored financial actuals on a monthly basis using MS Project? Or does anyone have any recommended solutions on how to do this?

Thanks in advance!

Will the Baseline Cost Visual report work for your needs? It shows Actual Costs and the Weekly or Monthly Calendar can be dragged into the Pivot chart. Custom fields are not time-phased but if you are entering Actuals, the data is there in the OLAP cube as well as in the Task usage and/or resource usage view.
