Here is my situation:
I have a Windows 2000 Server with backup exec 9.1 and compaq 35/70 tape drive (external). About 3 weeks ago a tape got jammed in the drive, so I swapped it out for a different drive, same model. I get the following error:
----- TapeAlert Events -----
Warning - The tape drive has a problem with the host interface:
1. Check the cables and cable connections.
2. Restart the operation.
Robotic Library:
Drive: COMPAQ 3
Slot:
and
Final error: 0x45d - The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.
so I swap for another drive (compaq 35/70). And I'm still getting the same error.
I contacted Veritas and ran through their troubleshooting, but I can't run NTBACKUP either so they were pretty much like "not our problem." Everything was working fine before the tape jammed in the orginal drive.
Anyone have any ideas what is causing this or what I can do?
Thanks so much.
