Hi,

I have a report compose of 2 sub reports, and I was wondering if it's possible to add filters on the main report referencing the sub reports when I run my report in the BOXI web application.

Thanks.

Your post says apply filters to the main report, but the title says apply filters to the subreports.

It doesn't really matter, you can apply filters to either, if not directly, then you can use parameters.

Try to post specifics instead of such general statements, your question asks a yes/no.

It's easy to guess your software version, but what you mean by this conflicting post is not so clear.

If what you mean is you want to filter the main report based on what happens in the subreports that would be a "NO". The subreport run after the main report has done it's filtering.

You can suppress sections after the section that runs the subreport, based on a subreport value returned using a Shared Variable. Does that help?

If the subreports are in the report header, you can use suppression back in the main report to do a form of filtering by passing values in shared variables.

It sounds to me like you have the main as a subreport, but in general you'll be better served to build out a better data source than use subreports.
