Filters invisible in Web

On development server I have a good copy of production.

Using desktop everything works as expected. When I point Web to log on to this server and start to create a report I can see and select attributes and metrics but not filters. I can navigate down filter folder structures but the actual pre-defined filters just don't show up in web. They do show in desktop. In each case I have signed in as "Administrator".

Obviously, my "good copy" has some difference since this is not a problem in prod.

There is some obscure setting I need to change, but I can't find it. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.
Microstrategy 7.2.1

bug.

TN5600-072-0578

just tested in 7.2.3 and it doesn't appear to be fixed, althought the TN states that it was fixed for 7.2.1...maybe I'm missing something, but if it really sttill exists as a problem in 7.2.3 it is absolutely unacceptable.

Can anyone refute this?

I strongly believe that you do not have MicroStrategy OLAP Services License.
Go to the user priveleges dialog box. Under the Desktop Analyst group, you will find an item "Use view filter editor" . This must be greyed out with an asterix. This indicates that this is an OLAP feature of MSTR 7i. If you have not purchased the OLAP package...sorry to say, you cannot avail this facility...Create a Report is of no use.

yah, checked this first off and I do have OLAP services in 7.2.3...still, I can't see filters in design mode either. However, I can see filters via the report wizard.

Maybe there is a glitch in the CD key I used, maybe not.

So, GMACTom, I'd open up a tech support case and verify that your license key allows use of OLAP Services (follow datamart's advice first, though).

Let us know how this resolves itself...

Original poster's reply:
I failed to make clear a key point: when web points to production server all filters are visible when creating a new report and I click "Edit Report Filter" button. All web users are able to use this when creating reports. But when I log on to development mart to test changes to filters and prompts I do not see same filters when I click "Edit Report Filter" button.
Works fine in prod desktop, prod web, and dev desktop. Just dev web is not behaving as expected.
Sorry my original post was incomplete or confusing.

how about the user privileges under the webpro section in your dev server...

That setting is the same if I check Dev server or Prod server, but upon logging in the filters appear in Prod but are hidden in Dev. Problem is Web only, works as expected in Desktop mode.
