I have a subreport linked by Master/Child fields to the parent report but need to further filter out records in teh subreport based on a date on my parent report. I set the Subreport's filteron to yes and the filter = to [EFFDT]<=FORMS!RPTLEASES!EXPDT. When the report runs I get the Enter Parameter Value and the Text Box for Forms!RptLEASES!EXPDT. The actual [EXPDT] control and the subform are in the detail section of the Parent report. I tried moving the [EXPDT] control around because I know that sometimes the control is not available depending on what part of the report is processing at the time the field is needed. No avail. Moving it was no help. I checked the field name to make sure I didn't reference it incorrectly. Matches.

Please advise.

TIA,

Hi Jean,

Try:

[tt]

[EFFDT]<= Parent!EXPDT

or

[EFFDT]<= Reports!RPTLEASES!EXPDT
[/tt]

Never argue with an idiot, he'll bring you down to his level - then beat you with experience.

Thanks. I used the second option. Works very well!
