Filtering Question

I have a datasheet form. Whenever I open it no records show. Once I filter it, the records will show. When it is in the no records state, clearing the filter does nothing. When it is in a filtered state and showing records, clearing the filter will remove the filter and the records will still show. Can you help me brainstorm any settings that could be affecting what is showing.

I already know that form.filter="" and form.filteron=false

Thanks.
