First a disclaimer, I am new to all of this so this may be an obvious answer.

A little background on what is set up and what I am trying to do. There are 2 lists called Projects and Tasks, the Project list has 1 column called "Title", the Tasks list has 2 columns called "Title" and "Project". The Project column in the Tasks list is a lookup filed pulled from the Title column in the Projects list. A more logical view is so that I can assign tasks to a project.

What I am trying to accomplish is on the item view for the Projects list, I edited the dispform.aspx to have a data view down at the bottom to show all the related tasks for the particular project I am viewing. There are 2 possible ways I can see to fix this:

#1: append a query string to the link to view a Project item. I was able to do this by editing that particular page but as soon as I create a new view it defaults to the default without the additional query string

#2: the preferable way, based off of the "ID" query string when viewing an item, look up the project name based off of that ID and then filter the data view based off of the project name.

Can anyone provide any insight on how to accomplish this?
