Filter sharepoint view

Hi all, I have a WSS site that users use to store documents into document libraries, they also store emails in there, is there any way I can create a view, that automatically filters out the file type .msg?, would make navigating a lot simpler, if the email messages are filtered out a particular view and leaves everything else.

yeah, you can create a view to filter out .msg files. there are filter options in the list settings.

I see the filter options there, but i see no way to filter based on File type

whoops, i think you're right. are you using wss ver 2 or 3?
