Filter on Selections Question

If I have a Custom Group with more than one line item, should I be able to use the Filter on Selections option and limit the number of line items on a report?

If not, then why do check boxes appear next to Custom Group line items when Filter on Selections is clicked on?

can you clarify your question?

You have a custom group and you want to put a filter on top of the Custom Group and you still see check boxes next to the custom group line items? Is this in Web or Desktop? Do you suspect this is a bug?

i have a report that has a custom group, with more than one set of groupings, along one of the row headers. after the report is run, i click on "Filter on Selections" and check boxes appear next to each sub-grouping of the custom group. if i click one and hit "Apply", i get an error message.

so it isn't putting a filter on top of the report, but using the "Filter on Selections" option. it is in web. i think it's a bug.
