Filter on Form

I'm having problems with a Form Filter. I have the Form open, click on Record - Filter, and type in a filter with wildcards (..hello..). This is on an alpha field. If I just type the wildcards after the string (h..), it works. If I just type the wildcards before the string (..o) it does not work.

When it doesn't work, it returns no records.

Any ideas? Thanks.
