Hi
I want to include a filter in a report. But I don't want the attribute on which this filter is created, to be part of the report. Can I do it? Or whenevr I drag any filter/prompt in a report , I always have to drag the corresponding attributes as well?

Please let me know this

thanks

Hello 138006,

You do not need the attribute that you are filtering on present in the report grid. Using the MSTR Tutorial, for example, if you have a simple report with the attribute 'Region' on it, you can use a 'Country' filter with a condition of, 'USA'. The result of the report will show all of the 'Regions' in 'USA' without showing the country on the report.

the condition will be used only if the attribute (on which the filter is created) is related (either parent or child) to at least one other attribute used on the report.
the example given by dinzana will work assuming that we have assigned Country attr as parent of Region attr
