I have adapted a filter form to my database created by an add-in I found as freeware on the Internet(Smartforms). It's exactly what I need and seems to work fine on my PC. When I load the Database on other PCs and use this form it gives me a Compile Error: "can't find project or library". Can you point me in the right direction to fix this problem? Thanks,
John

The program you used to create that program probably placed a reference to a DLL it placed in your machine to enable it's search functionality. Either install the program on you other PC, or find the DLL and place it on the other PC. Then register the DLL via regsvr.

This DB will be distributed widely via email and I will not be able to add the .dll to everyone's PC. Is there a possible work around I can use? Is it possible to place this library in the code of the app? I tried making the file an MDE and that still causes problems. In the future I will distribute the run-time version, but I'm not sure if that will fix this problem anyway. Any thoughts for now besides taking this out of the program?

Thanks

Contact the company that wrote it and see if they can help your or rewrite the form yourself. Sorry I don't have a better answer.
