An applicatoin we have running on an Ultra-1 Solaris 2-6 box has started displaying the following message:

Internal error: filsys retry (15)

This message has only started apearing in the last few days.
The App provider is adament that it's not their problem "must be O/S error" but I've never seen this before.

Can someone confirm if this is indeed O/S related and if so how it could be resolved.

Are you able to unmount the filesystem and do an fsck check?
Had a look thru /var/adm/messages for anything unusual?

The file systems have been fsck'd and all are okay. There is nothing unusual in the messages file.

The system was rebooted as well and nothing unusual was noted on the console.

Any ideas?

That would be enough for me to go back to the App provider and ask for more diagnosis on their part. If the application produces the message, then there must be a condition that prompts this. The software developers must know what this is.

Funnitly enough, they app people have come back, and admited it is their error, which they've resolved, surprise surprise.

Thanks for the help.

Just a suggestion:)

Did you check the logs generated by your application?
May be this error has been logged over there.. If this error has been logged to application log file, then you can ask the vendor to rectify it..
